The Rolling Stones have wheeled out their bath chairs and released a new augmented reality campaign to promote their recently re-released ‘Exile on Main Street’ album on mobile platform Layar. The free ‘Exile On Your Street’ app enables users to stick posters of the band on real world locations.
What’s interesting about this app, and the Layar platform itself, is the ability it gives users to customise how they see the world. The possibilities for information overlays on real world data are many, but sometimes a simple location make-over is all it takes to engage users.
