The FRUKT team was out in force in NYC last week, as Coca-Cola and Spotify joined forces with some of the hottest app developers from around the world in the lead up to the announcement of their groundbreaking global music partnership.
High above NYC in a sumptuous loft apartment five elite teams of programmers were invited to take part in the ‘Coke And Spotify Hacker Den’, as they sought to conceptualise, create and present a series of bespoke music apps in just 30 hours.
After an exhaustive period of coding, representatives from both Spotify and Coca-Cola then judged the final prototypes, with the ‘London Calling’ team netting the opportunity to continue fine-tuning their app for a launch during the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Then, after the big announcement was made at the Ad Age Digital Conference on Wednesday, it was time to relax and celebrate the new partnership in style, as Coke and Spotify hosted an awesome party in the very same space that had seen the hackers getting creative mere days ago.
Our favourite Brooklyn band Savoir Adore (who will also be playing at FRUKT HQ in the coming weeks) and hip hop duo Chiddy Bang provided the evening’s music. Check out pics from the event on our Facebook page here.
