McDonald’s: If the cup fits

Following on with our series on ‘augmenting the everyday’- which previously featured larger than life product representations from both Schweppes and McDonald’s - here is yet another Golden Arches inspired campaign that sought to turn found objects into every day product placements.

As part of the Dollar Drink Days promotion in Toronto McDonald’s turned a series of beach umbrellas into the brand’s iconic straw and cup lids. A simple yet clever campaign bringing a branded utility to the beach as a constant reminder of where boiling beach-goers could get their hands on a refreshing drink.

With Jack Black appearing in the soon to be released reworking of Gulliver's Travels, expect lots more brand installations to appear that put big brands amongst the little people.
