Last week some of the FRUKT gang traveled to Glasgow to welcome the Olympic Torch’s arrival in Scotland's largest city.
Unfortunately the sun didn't turn up, but a 10,000 strong crowd quickly filled up George’s Square in the centre of the capital. During the day, Coca Cola psyched people up on the Olympic Flame's journey to the heart of Glasgow, handing out free beat pads, which were later incorporated into Coca-Cola's Beat Generator performance on stage.
The first artist to take to the stage was Northern Ireland indie rock band General Fiasco who instantly got the crowd moving. Next up, Scotland’s own Emeli Sande showcased her flawless vocals, cheered on by a rapturous crowd. Minutes before our headline artist, the eagerly awaited Olympic Flame was carried onto stage and the cauldron was lit to the cheers of the Glaswegian audience. Then Eliza Doolittle took to the stage and topped off the day with a mix of pop, soul and funk.
