The Hottest Acts At The Jägerhaus

Jägermeister's Jägerhaus is into its second year this summer, with much the same vibe as last year: we've just gone bigger and bolder. Lots of interesting, emerging acts have made it on the bill this year as well as those who've already found their feet. Our Music Editor, Simon Singleton, who curated the lineup gave us a quick rundown on some of the acts he's most hyped about at this week's Kendal Calling. We've also got a playlist of all artists gracing the stages to listen to here.

KIOKO - Friday, 6.30pm. Hailing from Birmingham, Kioko are a major new party band with a irrepressible upbeat reggae vibe. Huw Stephens has recently played them on Radio 1, and they’re truly fantastic live performers who are going to tear up the Jägerhaus on Friday night. Along with tracks from their debut EP, they drop a few killer cover versions into the mix, including a ska version of Drake’s ‘Hotline Bling’ which has to be seen to be believed!

NOVELIST - Saturday, 10.30pm. One of the best new MCs emerging in the next wave of grime artists, Novelist performed with Skepta at Glastonbury and is flying straight in from Ibiza to perform at the Jägerhaus. Signed to XL Records, he’s a prodigious talent and going to be one of the biggest draws of the weekend.

YAK - Sunday 10.30pm. A recent Album Of The Day on BBC 6 Music, Yak’s frenetic guitar sounds are going to be a magnificent close to the live bands playing the Jägerhaus at Kendal Calling. Anyone lucky enough to have tickets to the recent Last Shadow Puppets tour will have also got to see them support.
